We were almost on level terms immediately but Stephen Strachan’s free kick from 25 yards out was saved well by the keeper.
Halliburton doubled their lead on 10 minutes. A free kick was whipped into the box and their striker found himself unmarked in the box. Dek McKenzie got a strong hand to the powerful header but couldn’t quite keep it out 2-0
We managed to pull one back on the 20 minute mark, Kyle Jaques with some superb play down the left then found Daniel Mitchell in the box. Dan took a touch past the defender and fired low past the keeper leaving him with no chance 2-1
We were well on top now and by far the better team, however totally against the run of play Halliburton found a 3rd a shot from 30 yards took an awkward bounce in front of Dek and he fumbled the ball over the line 3-1
With just minutes to go till half time it should have been 4 and game over but Halliburton had a goal chopped off for offside. However seconds later we went up the pitch and Kyle Jaques was brought down just inside the box….. PENALTY!!!!
Ross Doig stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way as he calmly slotted the ball into the corner for his first competitive goal in a Rattrays shirt.

We came out for the second half flying and were by far the better team.
Derek Yeats almost found the equalizer on the hour mark, but with only the keeper to beat his shot went agonisly wide of the post.
We had chance after chance but just could not find the equalizer.
Then with 10 minutes to go it looked like it wasn’t going to be our day, Kyle with a superb pass to Dean Brady but his thunderous shot from 25 yards came back of the crossbar.
