Match report

After reaching the quarter final of the White Cup on Saturday is was back to league business where we took on Gt Western at Kaimhill.
We dominated the opening 10 minutes of the game but couldn’t really muster any clear chances to test the keeper.
Then with 15 minutes gone, totally against the run of play, Gt Western took the lead. A weak shot from their striker took a wicked deflection off Shaun Matheson and found it way past Derek in goals 1-0
Minutes later Gt Western almost double their lead, a great strike from 30 yards came back off the crossbar and we managed to clear.
The equalizer came on 23 minutes, Dean Brady with a superb ball to Ewen Morgan, with the keeper advancing he slid in and superbly hit his shot low as the keeper jumped 1-1
We had numerous chances to take the lead going into half time but just could not seem to get that second goal.
Half Time (1-1)
Within minutes of the re-start we again should have took the lead, Ross Doig found himself with only the keeper to beat from 8 yards but his shot was well saved.
The chances were coming thick and fast and it was almost a dream debut for Tony Miller, after some clever play from Daniel Mitchel he played the ball out to Tony but his shot went just over the bar.
It felt like it was going to be one of those nights, when Daniel Mitchell went through one on one with the keeper but shot straight at him.
With 10 minutes to go we finally took the lead, Derek Yeats with some sort of acrobatics at the edge of the box, that wouldn't have looked out of place at the Rio Olympics, found Daniel Mitchell who calmly slotted into the bottom corner 2-1
Gt Western pushed to try get a late equalizer but we held on for a well-deserved win.
Full Time (2-1)
