Match report

After a fixture change Rattrays ended up at Hazelhead to play JS XI

Rattrays started well but never really tested JS’s keeper.
With 25 minutes gone we had our first real chance when a square ball to Craig was laid off to Scott Dunbar but the keeper saved well to keep the score at 0-0

Rattrays then had a series of corners but could not make any of them count.

Half Time (0-0)

The second half started as the first ended, and there was not much to report on.

Then on the 60 minute mark, Rattrays patients paid off. A delightful cross from substitute Rickie Moir found Michael Frost who shot across the keeper into the far side 1-0

Within 2 minutes of the re-start Rattrays doubled their lead, Michael Frost put a superb cross into the box and found Ross Davidson who could not miss and he headed in from 7 yards out.

It should have been three in 5 minutes but Chris Mackintosh’s header from a Terry corner came back off the crossbar.
Rickie Moir was making a real nuisance of himself up front and found himself through on goal but just as he was about to pull the trigger he was fouled in the box…….. PENALTY!!
No one really jumped at the chance to take it, so it fell on Ross Davidson’s shoulders, however it was the right height for the keeper to save.

With minutes to go the 3rd goal did come. Chris Edwards played a great ball to Michael Frost down the right and he unselfishly squared to Rickie Moir who passed the ball into the empty net to score on his debut.
