Match report

Rattrays went up against Continental in our first league game of 2016
Conti started brightly and should have maybe taken the lead but their striker’s free header in the box was superbly saved from Derek McKenzie and then cleared off the line from Thomas Simmers.
Rattrays first real chance of the game came after 20 mins. Chris Mackintosh picked the ball and his vicious shot from 20 yards went inches over the cross bar.
Neither team could really get a hold of the game or create any chances.
Half time (0-0)
Straight after the interval Martin Hughes played a great ball through to Derek Yeats who found himself with only the keeper to beat, but the keeper kept it out with his feet.
Rattrays eventually found the breakthrough when substitute Kyle Jaques played a great ball down the line to Martin Hughes, his ferocious shot from 25 yards was unstoppable 1-0
With 10 minutes to go Conti started to come back into the game and pressed to find the equalizer but Chris Mackintosh was superb in the heart of defence and cleared up everything.
Hughes should maybe have had his second of the game when he caught Conti on the break but after some silky football he could not find the net.
Full Time (1-0)
