Match report

Rattrays had their 2nd game in 3 days against bottom of the table Continental

Chris Mackintosh almost gave us the lead within 10 minutes, a brilliant 30 yard run with the ball and a thunderous strike from 25 yards out was brilliantly topped onto the bar.

With 15 minutes gone Craig George played a superb ball through to Thomas Simmers who calmly slotted past the keeper for the opening goal.

We thought we had double our lead 2 minutes later when Terry Johnston swung in a corner, it looked like the keeper had fumbled it over the line, but the referee was in the perfect position to judge, so had no complaints.

The second goal did eventually come 10 minutes from half time; Terry Johnston with another superb corner was headed home from Chris Smith 2-0

It was almost 3 on the stroke of half time; Dean Brady with a vicious shot inside the box was brilliantly saved from the keeper.

Half Time (2-0)

Within 2 minutes of the re-start Thomas simmers passed to Craig George who was open on the edge of the box, he shot low and hard into the bottom corner 3-0

On 55 minutes substitute Kyle Jaques put a superb ball over the top, Derek Yeats ran through and got to the ball before the keeper.
With Derek giving us some breathing space this allowed us to ring the changes to keep the legs fresh for Wednesday’s game.

The goals kept coming though; Craig George got his second of the game. Terry Johnston with a brilliant pass found Craig in the box and he finished well 5-0

It was soon 6-0 Terry Johnston with yet another assist with a superb ball over the top to Jamie Dunn, the keeper got a strong hand to his shot but there was just too much power and he failed to keep it out.
Two minutes late Jamie was in the exact same position but this time he unselfishly squared the ball to Peter Lamont who could not miss from inside the box 7-0

It could have been eight as David Minett tried to get in on the act but his superbly his shot was cleared off the line.

Full Time (7-0)
